The ERMR 2027 will be hosted at the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI), one of Brazil’s leading public universities in engineering, science, and technology.
Getting to Itajubá, Minas Gerais
For those interested - particularly groups of three or more - we can arrange and pre-pay for car, minivan (shuttle), or chartered bus services from main Brazilian airports (GRU, GIG, VCP) to the destination hotel in Itajubá upon request. However, transfer rates have not yet been finalized; these can be requested once the list of interested parties is confirmed.
São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport is the main international gateway for participants traveling to ERMR 2027. The UNIFEI campus in Itajubá is approximately 245 km from the airport, with a travel time of 4-5 hours by car or 7-9 hours by bus, depending on the selected service and connections.
Intercity Bus: There are two convenient bus options for traveling from Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) to Itajubá:
• Option 1 – Airport Bus Service + Santa Cruz (recommended): Take the Airport Bus Service from GRU Airport to São Paulo Bus Terminal (Terminal Rodoviário do Tietê). From Tietê, regular Santa Cruz coaches operate direct services to Itajubá.

• Option 2 – Pássaro Marrom: Pássaro Marrom operates services from Guarulhos Airport to Itajubá, usually with a stop in São José dos Campos. This option avoids the transfer to Terminal Tietê, although fewer daily departures are available.

Rental Car: All major car rental companies operate at GRU Airport. The recommended driving route follows BR-116 (Rodovia Presidente Dutra) and BR-459 Lorena (SP) to Itajubá.
Rio de Janeiro/Galeão – Tom Jobim International Airport (GIG) is another convenient international gateway for participants traveling to ERMR 2027. The UNIFEI campus in Itajubá is approximately 310 km from the airport, with a travel time of 5-6 hours by car or approximately 7-8 hours by public transportation, including the transfer from the airport to the bus terminal.
Intercity Bus: There are no direct buses from Galeão International Airport to Itajubá. Participants should first go to Rio de Janeiro Bus Terminal (Rodoviária Novo Rio), where regular coach services to Itajubá are available. Taxi and ride-hailing services are also available from the airport to Novo Rio.
Rental Car: Major international and local car rental companies operate at GIG Airport. The recommended driving route follows BR-116 (Rodovia Presidente Dutra) and BR-459 toward Itajubá.
Campinas/Viracopos International Airport (VCP) is an excellent alternative international gateway for participants traveling to ERMR 2027, especially those arriving from the United States and Canada. Azul Airlines operates near-daily direct flights between Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Viracopos, providing a convenient connection for international travelers. The UNIFEI campus in Itajubá is approximately 280 km from the airport, with a travel time of 4-5 hours by car or approximately 7-11 hours by public transportation, including the transfer from the airport to the bus terminal.
Intercity Bus: There are no direct buses from Viracopos International Airport to Itajubá. Participants should first go to the Campinas Bus Terminal (Terminal Rodoviário Ramos de Azevedo), where regular coach services to Itajubá are available. Taxi, ride-hailing services, and the airport shuttle are available from the airport to the bus terminal.
